2000 Flux Us

Flux Us, 2000
Multi media installation, variable dimensions.
Collaboration with Yong Soon Min.

This was a precursor to later more performative pieces based on John and Yoko’s bedins. This installation quoted various of Yoko Ono’s artworks (such as Yes) and proposals, as well as Beatles’ song lyrics, such as the cellophane flowers hanging from the ceiling (from Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds).

The main part of the installation consisted of a raised bed-like platform covered with heat-sensitive and chromotropic material that changed color according to body temperature. Viewers could make temporary body imprints by sitting, lying down, etc, and after a few minutes the material would revert to its room-temperature black color.
